PURPOSE:To eliminate excessive gaseous pressure and flow rate and lower the costs for gas changing and equipment by mutually differing and changing over the pressure set values of previously and succeedingly blowing gases while maintaining gas blowing of prescribed flow rates at the changeover of the gases. CONSTITUTION:Three kinds of gases are supplied via pressure control valves 14- 14'', and shutoff valves 15-15'' to the gas blowing tuyeres 12 in the bottom part of a bottom blown converter 11. Before the changeover of the gases, the valves 14', 15' for Ar which is the succeeding gas are fully shut, and the valve 15' is fully opened by a gas changeover command signal.
