Abstract

PURPOSE:To ensure the stable working and thus to increase the reliabilty of a constant voltage device even when a fault arises to a transistor (TR), etc., by connecting two TRs in series between a DC power source and a load and at the same time connecting other TRs in parallel to the above-mentioned two TRs. CONSTITUTION:Transistors TRs 7 and 2 are connected in series between a power source 1 and a load 3 and controlled by control circuits 100 and 200 to deliver outputs Y and Z (Y>Z). If the TR2 has a fault and conducts, the output Z increases. Then a control circuit 300 which has detected the output Z controls the circuit 100. When the output Y or Z is set at zero owing to a fault of the TR7 or TR2, this phenomenon is detected to make conduct a TR16 or TR18 connected in parallel to the TRs 7 and 2 respectively. Thus the stable working is ensured although either one of the TRs 7 and 2 plus their control circuits has a fault, and as a result the reliability is increased for a constant voltage device.
