PURPOSE:To obtain higher sensitibvity for reducible gas and Freon gas in low concentration, by providing a catalyst layer comprising Al2O3.SiO2 carrying a prescribed amount of molybdenum an the surface of a gas-sensitive means. CONSTITUTION:A carrier Al2O3, SiO2 and Al2O3.SiO2 is weighed in prescribed amount, and an ammonium molybdate aqueous solution diluted to a prescribed concentration with water is added in a prescribed amount to said carrier, and they are left as they are for a whole day and night. After being left, they are evaporated on drying, and are made to be powder in a mortar, and further are baked at temperature of 300-600 deg.C to obtain a catalyst.
