Abstract

PURPOSE:To achieve flip-flop operation with only an AC power source by making pieces of logical information [1] and [0] correspond to whether a clockwise and a counterclockwise permanent circulating current are present or not. CONSTITUTION:A bias current is supplied from an input terminal 22. When a set signal is applied to a terminal 26, a switch gate 20 switches into a resistance state and the bias current is supplied to a superconductive loop 18 through a load resistance 24. Since the set signal is being applied to a switch gate 19, the supply current to the superconductive loop 18 all flows through a right-hand side branch 29 so that the switch gate 19 switches into a resistance state. At this time, if the set signal and bias current are both ceased, the current supply to the superconductive loop 18 is intercepted and a clockwise permanent circulating current is held in a loop, and attains a set state. To detect this set state, an AC bias current is only applied to a switch gate 21 for information detection.
