Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a toner which is capable of fixing swiftly as a high frequency dielectric heating toner, by containing a substance whose temperature characteristic of the product epsilon tan delta of a dielectric constant epsilon and a dielectric power factor tan delta is positive, in a state that its diameter has been made an independent phase having size of <=1/2 of the particle diameter of the toner. CONSTITUTION:Toner particles are obtained by preparing the particles having the diameter of >=0.1, whose temperature characteristic of epsilon tan delta is positive, and is a value of >=0.16 at room temperature and becomes >= its 1.2 times at 50 deg.C, and subsequently, kneading said particles with a binder and crushing them. For instance, 85pts.wt. acryl resin, 15pts.wt. epoxy resin and 10pts.wt. carbon black are melted and kneaded, and are crushed after cooling, and particles whose diameter is about 2mu and whose epsilon tan delta is 0.32 and 0.48 at room temperature and at 50 deg.C, respectively. 15pts.wt. these particles are kneaded together with 85pts.wt. acrylic resin and 10pts.wt. carbon black at a melting point being lower than that of epoxy resin, and after that are crushed, by which a toner of 5-20mu is prepared. This toner is capable of high frequency fixing in a few seconds, and the utilization efficiency of energy is high.
