Abstract

PURPOSE: To form an anodic oxidation film with good coloring property, in a secondary electrolytic coloring process, by a method wherein anodic oxidation treatment is carried out by D.C. of constant voltage at first and, subsequently, electrolysis is applied by rectangular wave A.C.
CONSTITUTION: In forming a colored film on an aluminum material by a secondary electrolytic coloring process, anodic oxidation treatment is carried out by D.C. of constant voltage at first and voltage is about 10W20V, current density is about 0.5W1.5A/dm2, an electrolytic time is about 10W60min and a bath temp. is about 10W25°C. Subsequently, in a same bath tank, electrolysis is applied by rectangular wave A.C. of which current is cyclically reversed and said electrolysis by the same current is completed before anode current is restored until a constant valve. In this time, anode voltage is 2W10V and cathode voltage is 2W8V. Thus obtained anodic oxidation film imparts good coloring property in subsequent electrolytic coloring treatment and a coloring time is also shortened.
