Abstract

PURPOSE:To measure accurate sizes quickly by such constitution wherein an object to be measured is irradiated by parallel rays and the light thereof is imaged to a line sensor via two sets of optical path changing prisms provided oppositely and a lens. CONSTITUTION:The light from a light source 7 is made into parallel luminous fluxes by a Fresnel lens 8, and an object 22 to be measured is irradiated by these fluxes. The optical path of the light which is not shut off by the object 22 is changed by two sets of prisms 5 and 4, and is imaged onto a line sensor 1 via a lens 3. The output of a line sensor 9 for detection corresponding to the space W between the opposite surfaces G and J of a pair of the prisms 4, 4 is inputted to an adder 10. The output corresponding to the size Pnd of the shadow by the object 22 of the line sensor 1 is inputted to the adder 10. Both inputs are added, and the diameter D=W+Pnd of the object 22 is displayed 11. Thereby, the accurate size D of the object 22 is quickly measured.
