Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve a resolution and to improve a responsiveness, by a method wherein a pulse width modulation output is synchronized with a counting clock. CONSTITUTION:If a modulation signal F1 from a frequency divider 5 rises from -Ec to +Ec, an output P2 of an integrator falls from a positive to a negative, and if it cuts a zero level, an output P3 of a comparator 2 rises from 0 to 1. A F/F circuit 10 latches the output condition of the comparator 2 resulting from the rising of an output P4 of a clock pulse generator 4. If the modulation signal voltage P1 inverts from +Ec to -Ec, the output of the integrator starts to rise. A Q-output P5 of the F/F circuit 10 counts a pulse passing a gate 6 for a period of 1, and this can determine an input voltage Ex. This enables removal of the integration of 1 count error, and permits shortening of a period of a one-time modulation signal in comparison with that of a conventional one.
