Abstract

PURPOSE: To efficiently remove ammonia from coal ash adhered with an ammonium salt by blowing air into an accumulated body obtained by adding water to coal ash collected in a dust collecting apparatus from a conduit below said accumulated layer to return generated ammonia to a flue.
CONSTITUTION: An exhaust gas generated in a coal boiler 1 is introduced into a denitrification apparatus 2 and coal ash (d) adhered with an ammonium salt collected in a dust collecting apparatus 4 is introduced into a humidiying apparatus 5 and water (e) is added thereto. The resultant humidified coal ash (f) is introduced into an ammonia releasing apparatus 6 to be accumulated therein and, thereafter, air (g) is blown into an accumulated body from a lower part thereof through a conduit and a generated ammonia gas is removed from the coal ash. Air containing ammonia is supplied to a preceeding stage of the denitrification apparatus 2 through a line (c). The coal ash after the ammonium salt is decomposed and removed is conveyed out from the ammonia releasing apparatus 6 when supply of air (g) stopped.
