Abstract

PURPOSE: To easily realize manufacturing of a metallic mold by transferring shapes and patterns of real things to steel, by pressing the steel against molded surfaces of a trinket or a handiwork after electroforming of a hard metal is performed.
CONSTITUTION: Trinkets and handiworks are molded with wax, silicone rubber, gypsum, etc., and an electroforming of a hard metal is perfomed on the molded surface of wax, silicone rubber, gypsum, etc. Then, wax, silicone rubber, gypsum, etc., are removed from the electroforming material, and annealed or red heated steel is pressed against the electro-chemically molded material so as to transfer the shape and pattern of the electro-chemically molded material to the steel. The steel is then quenched and thus metallic molds for trinkets and handiworks are obtained. The reason why the molding with wax, silicone rubber, gypsum, etc., are used is to accurately copy minute shapes and patterns of real things and to prevent damages caused by the chemical solution at the next process of the electroforming. Also, why the electroforming is used is, the electroforming is able to accurately copy the shapes and patterns copied with the wax, silicone rubber, gypsum, etc.
