Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a rubbing surface having no polishing directivity, by polishing the sharp tip of a regenerating stylus while giving the repetitive reciprocating shift to the stylus toward the radius of a rotating polishing disk. CONSTITUTION:A polishing disk 4 is rotated in a high speed by a motor 3 toward an arrow A. On the other hand, an electrode 15 is coated to a side face of a stylus 1 to be polished, and the tip part 14a is sharpened to be fixed to the tip of a pickup arm 16 and then to an arm part 11 that is attached to the tip of a bracket 7 in a height controllable way. The bracket 7 is supported slidably by a pair of guide rails 8a and 8b and has a repetitive reciprocating shift by a motor 9 and a crank mechanism 10 toward arrows X1 and X2. Thus the stylus 1 is polished while it receives the repetitive reciprocating shift toward the radius of the rotating disk 4. As a result, a polished surface having no polishing directivity is obtained.
