Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable cleaning of a disk pack to be readily performed in a sbort time by using taper type cleaning rollers. CONSTITUTION:The taper type cleaning roller consists of a brush 4 which revomes the stains deposited on the taper type roller 2 supported to a roller shaft 3, a pressing spring 5 which presses the roller part 2 to a disc face, a pad 6 connecting the shaft 3 and spring 5 and a mounting holder 7. A magnetic disk pack 16 is placed on a spindle 17 and is rotated by a motor 18. A moving table 12 is moved toward the central direction of the pack 16 by a step motor 15 by way of a coupling holder 14. The respective roller parts 2 begin to revolve while making contact to the surfaces of the respective discs 1 and perform cleaning while moving in the radial direction of the discs 1 by being controlled with the motor 15.
