Abstract

PURPOSE:To perfectly remove the dust having deposited on modulated grooves by a simple method by so disposing a support shaft that a part of record disc except its label is dipped in the liquid in an ultrasonic cleaning bath and cleaning the record disc while letting the same rotate. CONSTITUTION:A record disc support shaft 7 which supports a record disc 8 by passing through its central hole is rotatably engaged at its both end parts in the nothces 6a of the support plate 6 provided to an ultrasonic cleaning bath and is provided with a groove 7a which defines the movement in the axial direction. The record disc 8 is supported approximately perpendicularly with respect to the shaft 7 by the auxiliary plate 9 fixed to the support shaft 7. The support plate 6 provided in the opening part of the cleaning bath 1 is set at such a height that when the support shaft 7 is mounted a part of the record disc 8 dips in the cleaning liquid surface in the cleaning bath 1 but the label 10 affixed to the central part does not dip in the cleaning liquid surface. Hence, if the cleaning bath 1 is operated while the record disc 8 is being rotated, the dust having been deposited in the minute modulated grooves may be readily and perfectly removed.
