Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve reliability to damage of a reproducing stylus as well as mass- producibility by bonding an electrode, which detects an information signal, to a flank surface formed by elongation in the same direction as the tangent of a track of the reproducing stylus. CONSTITUTION:Since constant-width streak part 23b of electrode 23 is formed on surface 22 in parallel to the scanning direction of reproducing stylus body 21, shock due to the elastic restoration of video disc 2 never operates upon end part 23a under the electrode and no thermal energy attending upon a scan converges. Further, since the electrode is applied with Hf or Ti by sputtering, its thickness is thin and precisely set, so that a video disc of extremely-high density can be obtained. Further, there is no need to symmetrize reproducing stylus body 21 on the scanning direction, and consequently the number of polished surfaces is reduced, providing excellent mass-producibility. In this way, reliability to a breakdown and mass- producibility will both improve.
