Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable a high speed measurement by determining a surface shape of a speed material widthwise detecting the temperature of respective surface thereof through a quick heating thereof with an induction heating coil arranged parallel to the center line of the thickness thereof.
CONSTITUTION: An induction heating coil l1 arranged parallel to the center line (x direction) of the thickness of a steel material 2 is induction heated with a high frequency pulse by a command from a microcomputor and the temperature of the surface of the steel material 2 immediate below the coil l1 is scanned and detected with a scanning type radiation thermometer 31. The signal is transmitted to a clamp circuit 11 via an amplifier 71 and an inversion amplifier 91 to adjust the lowest level of the inversion level to the reference potential (earth) and only a surface temperature smoothing signal inside the rim section of the steel material 2 is taken out with an analog gate 131. It is memorized with a latch circuit 141 via AD converter 121 to deliver a top surface shape data, thereby ensuring a high speed measurement.
