Abstract

PURPOSE: To accurately estimate and catch the fluctuations in the furnace core position owing to the uneven falling of refractory walls by burying a suitable number of temperature-measuring sensors in the refractory walls and estimating the profile of the inside surface of the furnace walls from the temperature information thereof.
CONSTITUTION: A suitable number of temperature-measuring sensors which detect the temperatures in the different positions in the wall thickness direction are beforehand buried in the circumferential refractory walls of the blast furnace. The temperature information of the sensor at each measurement point is analyzed by using a trigger response analysis method. Namely, from this temperature information, the inside surface positions at the current time are caught and these respective inside surface positions are specified at the directions and distances from the furnace center of the sound time, whereby the profile of the inside surface of the furnace walls during furnace operation is estimated. This method makes it possible to accurately control the charging direction of raw materials, the adjustment of tuyeres, etc. and achieve the longer life of the furnace.
