Abstract

PURPOSE:To boost a DC voltage up to two times or more without using large electric parts such as a transformer, by a method wherein two transistors, capacitors and diodes are combined in a suitable manner. CONSTITUTION:Two transistors Q1, Q2 are connected to a DC source E in series and at the same time a circuit which is composed of a series connection of a capacitor C3 and a Diode D3 is connected between the junction of the two transistors Q1, Q2 and the anode of the DC source E. Then a circuit which is composed of a series connection of a capacitor C4 and a Diode D4 is connected between the junction of the capacitor C3 and the diode D3 and the cathode of the DC source E. By switching the two transistors Q1, Q2 on and off alternately, the voltage approximately two times of that of the DC source E is generated across the capacitor C4.
