Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the using voltage efficiency of a boosting circuit by providing two capacitors and forming a circuit for producing a voltage determined by the ratio of the capacitances of the capacitors at an output terminal. CONSTITUTION:When a pin 6 is used as a power source pin during times t1-t2, the voltage of the output terminal O1 of a power source switching circuit 12 is sequentially shifted at its level in synchronism with the output terminal voltage of an inverter 2. Since this voltage is rectified by a transistor 21 and is inputted to the output terminal O1 of the circuit 13, the raised voltage is obtained at the output terminal O1 and the output terminal O2 of the inverter 21. No current is generated at the pin 6 in this period. Since the diode 24 breaks down when the voltage of the output terminal O1 exceeds the breakdown voltage at the time of reverse bias of the diode 24, it can prevent the damage of the respective transistors due to the abnormal high voltages of the respective output terminals O1.
