Abstract

PURPOSE: To incinerate sewage efficiently by a combustion furnace having a fluidized sand bed, by lowering the viscsoity of sewage through heating of the same, and supplying the heated sewage in the form of atomized particles into the furnace from a spraying means, under pressure by means of a pump.
CONSTITUTION: In a sewage incinerating apparatus shown in the drawing, sewage supplied from a hopper 13 disposed at the top of an incinerator 2 is burned by burning air that is supplied, under pressure, to a lower space 11 of the incinerator 2 via a heat exchanger 5 and air supply pipe 10, for instance, by means of a fan 8 and then pressurized and heated while it is carried upward through a porous plate 12, causing fluidization of a sand bed 1. Here, a heating means 14 is provided at a lower portion of the hopper 13 for heating sewage and thereby lowering its viscosity. Further, a viscous-substance feeding pump 15 is provided at the outlet of the hopper 13 for feeding sewage under pressure through a pipe 16, and a spray head 17 is attached to the top of the pipe 16 for supplying sewage after atomizing the same into fine particles and thereby causing efficient combustion of the sewage.
