Abstract

PURPOSE: To achieve efficient combustion of liquid fuel in a liquid-fuel combustion apparatus equipped with an ultrasonic atomizing means, by keeping the temperature of a burner flame board and the sizes of fuel particles respectively at a proper value by specifying the depth of flame holes formed in the flame board and the load factor of the flame holes.
CONSTITUTION: In aliquid-fuel combustion apparatus, in which fuel supplied from a fuel tank 1 is atomized in a fuel tank 3 by an ultrasonic atomizing means 4, and after being mixed with air supplied by a fan 5, carried into a combustion chamber 9 from flame holes 8a in a flame board 8 for ignition and combustion therein, said flame holes 8a of the flame board 8 are shaped to have a depth l within the range of 0.2W3.0mm. Further, the relationshep between the calorific value of fuel of a burner 7 and the area of flame holes 8a formed in the flame board 8, that is, the load factor of the flame holes is selected to be 0.5W3.0Kcal/mm2.hr. With such an arrangement, it is enabled to keep the temperature of flame board 8 at a proper value (about 400W600°C) and to prevent formation of rather large droplets of liquid fuel. Therefore, liquid fuel can be burned in an efficient manner.
