Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent generation of air pocket in a nozzle header of a hot rolling mill by providing an automatic selector valve, which is opened by low pressure water when supply of high pressure water to a descaling nozzle stops, to change over the water supply from high pressure to low pressure easily.
CONSTITUTION: While the pressure of high-pressure water at a descaling nozzle header is applied to a high-pressure water intake 2, a short-cylindrical hollow valve element 4 is moved leftward as in the direction of arrow (a), and the high-pressure water does not flow reversely to a low-pressure water supply hole 3 because a high- pressure water checking tapered valve 10 is in the closed position. If the supply of high-pressure water stops and the pressure is out, the pressure of low-pressure water moves the short-cylindrical hollow valve element 4 to the right to put a water hole 5 into communication with a water delivery hole 8, that will allow the low-pressure water to heave the tapered valve 10. Thus the tapered valve 10 is opened, and the low-pressure water flows into the descaling nozzle header through high-pressure water intake 2. The amount of low-pressure water is adjusted by an adjusting valve 12.
