Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare a Pb-Sn type alloy plated steel plate with reduced pinhole and excellent corrosion resistance by a method wherein Pb and Sn are respectively and independently electroplated on the surface of a steel plate to carry out two layered plating and, thereafter, heat melting treatment is applied thereto.
CONSTITUTION: The surface of a steel plate is cleaned by pretretment such as degreasing, pickling treatment or the like and, thereafter, by a conventional electroplating process, Pb and Sn metal are respectively plated alone to carry out two layered plating. In this case, in a total amount (a coating amount) of Pb and Sn metal, plating is applied in an amount of 10W300g/m2 per one side. Further, in plating, it is preferable that Pb plating is applied at first and, thereafter, Sn plating is applied. Subsequently, the resultant plating layer comprising Pb and Sn is subjected to heat melting treatment at a temp. of 232W450°C, especially, 232W327°C for a short time. In the resultant Pb-Sn type alloy plate steel plate, a surface layer comprises a Pb-Sn alloy layer and a strike thereof comprises a Pb coated layer or a Pb-Sn alloy layer of which a Sn content is low and said plated steel plate is excellent in solderability and corrosion resistance.
