Abstract

PURPOSE: To manufacture a Zn alloy coated steel plate for a car, etc. with superior corrosion resistnace, weldability and painting property by plating a cold rolled steel plate with Zn and Ni, Co, Mn, Sn, Cu or the like in succession and heat treating the plated steel plate at a specified temp.
CONSTITUTION: A cold rolled steel plate is plated with Zn by electroplating or other method and further plated with one or more among Ni, Co, Mn, Sn and Cu in the form of a simple substance, a mixture or an alloy. The plated steel plate is heat treated at 350W900°C in a continuous annealing line or the like. By this heat treatment Zn is diffused in iron and Ni, etc. to form a Zn alloy layer. By suitably controlling the thickness of the Zn plating and that of the upper metallic plating, steel products with superior weldability and painting property are obtd. without deteriorating the workability and adhesion of the alloy coats.
