Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the corrosion resistance and formation-treatment properties of a continuously annealed steel plate, by water-quenching the steel plate with an aqueous solution containing at least one compound of the compounds of Zn, Mn, Co, Ni and so on and coating the surface of the plate with a metallic layer having a prescribed thickness. CONSTITUTION:A steel plate heated in a heating zone 20 and in a uniform heating zone 21 is finally cooled in a final cooing zone 24. Subsequently, the steel plate cooled to about 100 deg.C-500 deg.C is water-quenched with an aqueous solution containing at least one compound of the compounds of Zn, Mn, Co, Ni, Mg and Al in a water-quenching zone 25. The surface of the thus water-quenched steel plate is coated with a metallic layer having the thickness corresponding to a metal weight of 1,000mg/m<2> or less. Thus the corrosion resistance and formation-treatment properties of the steel plate are improved.
