Abstract

PURPOSE: To make it possible to treat ashes by use of a home vacuum cleaner by a method wherein an ash treating duct is provided at an ash pool of the captioned apparatus and the configuration of an outlet of the duct is made to conform to the inlet port of the vacuum cleaner.
CONSTITUTION: The ashes of coal burned on a grate 3 are accumulated in the duct 6 after they gradually fall down into the duct 6 through openings in the grate 3 and flow slowly to the outlet 7. When the ashes are accumulated in the duct 6 up to a height reaching the outlet 7, a cap 8 on the outlet 7 is removed and the suction hose of the home vacuum cleaner is coupled to the outlet 7. As the outlet 7 of the duct 6 is located as high as the upper part of the duct 6, the ashes do not flow out or scatter outside the duct 6 even when the cap 8 is removed and the scattering of the ashes does not take place during the treatment of the ashes because of the use of the vacuum cleaner.
