Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve ignitability and fuel efficiency, by extracting some of an intake of prescribed air fuel ratio which is produced by an intake generator and by pressurizing the extracted intake with a pump to inject the extracted intake to a prescribed position in an intake passage downstream to a throttle valve to intensely disturb the intake.
CONSTITUTION: In an embodiment for an internal combustion engine in which a computer controls the time of opening of a fuel injecton valve 9 depending on the flow rate of intake, which is detected by an air flow meter 11, to regulate the ratio of air to fuel, a pump 12 is provided so that some of an intake flowing between the air flow meter 11 and a throttle valve 10 is extracted and compressed. The intake compressed by the pump 12 is conducted through a tube or the like to a nozzle 14 opened into an intake passage behind an intake valve 4. When the intake valve 4 is opened, the intake conducted to the nozzle 14 is injected into the combustion chamber 1' of a cylinder 1 through the nozzle 4 to swirl the other intake introduced through an intake port 6.
