Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an associative memory circuit which performs writing and reading operations simultaneously with less constituent elements, by controlling three switching transistors (TR), connected together as prescribed, by stored information and its complementary information. CONSTITUTION:When either one of bit lines 2 and 3 is held at a high potential according to written data and the other at a low potential, data is written in a memory circuit 1 and potentials M and M' coinciding with stored data and its complementary data appear at terminals 5 and 6. Those potentials M and M' control switching MIS TRs 7 and 8 connected to common lines 10 and 11 at the same potentials with pieces of retrieval information S and S' and also holds a common line 12 at a low potential to turn off a switching MIS TR9 grounded via a common line 14. Then, anti information on the sum of potentials M and S appear at a common terminal 14 between the TRs 7 and 8, performing associative operation. In reading and writing data, the potentials of the stored information and its complementary information appear via independent lines 10 and 11 to perform writing and reading operations with less constituent elements.
