Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a picture of uniform quality in achieving complete grounding without corrosion of an intermediate resistance layer by providing an earth layer, obtained by dispersing conductive particles in the water-based polymer emulsion, at the exposed part of the intermediate resistance layer at the recording layer terminal part of an electrostatic recording body. CONSTITUTION:An electrostatic recording body consisting of a base layer 11, an intermediate resistance layer 12 and a recording layer 14 is provided with earth layers 13, obtained dispersing conductive particles in a water-based polymer emulsion so that a dry coating has <=10<5>OMEGA/cm<2>, at exposed parts of the intermediate resistance layer 12 corresponding to the ends of the recording layer. This eath layer 13 is formed of the coating film having 10<3>OMEGA/cm<2> surface resistivity by dispersing carbon black in a poly(methyl methacrylate)-based polymer emulsion by 40% by volume in the final coating-film formation. Thus, complete grounding is achieved without corrosion of an intermedaite resistance layer 12 and consequently a recording body which provides uniform pictures is obtained.
