Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain an electrostatic recording body with superior wear resistance, superior cleaning characteristics and high printing resistance by forming a low resistance layer based on an electrically conductive metal oxide on a support and forming a dielectric layer having netlike protrusions of 5μ or less on the resistance layer.
CONSTITUTION: An electrically conductive layer having a surface resistibility of about 107Ω.cm is formed on a support such as a polyester film using a conating liq. composed of an electrically conductive metal oxide such as ZnO having a vol. resistibility of 100W103 Ω.cm and doped with Al, Ga or In, a thermosetting resin such as polyurethane or epoxy resin, a hardening agent and a solvent. The conductive layer is then coated with a composition soln. prepared by dissolving polyester resin or polyester resin and nitrocellulose in methyl ethyl ketone or the like, and immediately before drying, by means of a concave roll or the like a dielectric layer having netlike protrusions of 5μ or less is formed, thus obtaining an electrostatic recording body having high wear resistance, a wide humidity range and high printing resistance.
