Abstract
PURPOSE:To lengthen the distance from the center of a substrate to the surface of an active material for an electrode plate without increasing the weight and to increase the life of a lead storage battery, by sticking a synthetic resin body which has wider ribs than intermediate-frames of the substrate to both sides of the lead alloy substrate. CONSTITUTION:A casting substrate 1 made of a Pb-Ca alloy is previously warmed, before a synthetic resin body 4 whose shape is similar to that of the substrate 1 is pressed and deposited by welding to both sides of the substrate 1; the former synthetic resin body 4 has the box-shaped rib part 3 which is wider than the intermediate-frames 2 of the substrate 1. For instance, an acid-proof synthetic resin such as polypropylene is used for this synthetic resin body 4.
