Abstract
PURPOSE:To trace the program of any electronic computer by storing the value of a program counter in a storage device in every instruction fetch cycle by using an instruction fetch signal as a gate signal. CONSTITUTION:When a trace start address is set in an address setting part 201, a program to be traced is made run. Therefore, an instruction fetch M1 signal is inputted to a counter 205, an address coincidence detection part 202 and an instruction decoding part 203 through a gate. This detection part 202 compares the set value of the counter 205 with the value of the setting part 201 in response to every M1 signal and, when their coincidence is obtained, supplies the MI signal to the counter 205, whose count-up output is supplied to a storage device 204. A program counter output is supplied to the device 204, but this input is brought under write control by the M1 signal. Consequently, the processing path of the program is traced according to a program written in program counter values.
