Abstract

PURPOSE:To uniformalize the spacing between the substrates of a large size display panel in particular by interspersing spacer materials of diameters conformed to the spacing between the front and rear substrates, and microcapsuled adhesive agents of diameters larger than the diameters of said spacer materials between both substrates, then pressurizing, heating and sealing these. CONSTITUTION:Glass beads or glass fibers of diameters conformed to the spacing between a front substrate 1 and a rear substrate 2 are used as spacer materials 5, and microcapsuled adhesive agents 6 having diameters larger than these or microcapsules 7 of adhesive agents 7B sealed together with spacer materials 7A are interspersed between both substrates. Next, both substrates 1, 2 are pressurized, heated and sealed. Thereby, the substrates 1, 2 are firmly adhered and are maintained at a uniform spacing. Good results will be obtained by placing the spacer materials 5, and the adhesive agent capsules 6 or the capsules 7 at about 10 pieces each per 1cm<2>, and they will not hinder the display. Hence, the shape display free from uneven display and interference colors is obtained.
