Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent oxidation of welded surfaces and to improve the welding efficiency, by supplying an inert gas into a chamber after weldings are performed.
CONSTITUTION: After a material to be welded 1 is placed on a working bench 2, the pressure in a vacuum chamber 5 is lowered by a vacuum pump 4 after an opening and closing door 3 is shut, and a welding is performed by an electron beam welding gun 6. After the welding is completed, an inert gas is supplied into the chamber 5 through a gas supply tube 8 by opening a valve 7, and the chamber is filled with the gas. When the material to be welded is cooled, the material 1 is taken out by opening the door 3. Since the inert gas is charged into the chamber 5 through the gas supply tube 8 and the vacuum chamber is filled with the inert gas in the above mentioned welding process, the material to be welded 1 is cooled without oxidation.
