Abstract
PURPOSE:To execute welding which has no defect in a weld part, high in its weld penetration efficiency and stable in its quality, by providing a low pressure a low pressure shielding chamber directly under a condensing lens, and forming a low pressure atmosphere. CONSTITUTION:Welding is performed by exhausting the inside of a low pressure shielding chamber 10 for welding, irradiating a laser beam 2a, and simultaneously moving a substance to be welded 5. Since the inside of the shielding chamber 10 is exhausted, the irradiated part of the laser beam 2a remains behind in a molten metal, and the atmosphere which causes generation of a defect or generation of oxidation of the surface does not exist. Also, to an inert gas shielding chamber 20, inert gas is supplied through a pipe 21 and a valve 22, therefore, even if leakage occurs between the substance to be welded 5 and a sealing part 13 due to sliding, there is no atmospheric air in the shileding chamber 10. Accordingly, since there is no air in a weld part, ozone is not generated, and welding without causing a defect is executed.
