Abstract

PURPOSE:To continuously anneal a conductor stranded wire 1 at low heat loss without requiring any boiler and steam supply system by immersing the conductor stranded wire into water then passing the same through an annealing area provided with a steam oxidation preventing atmosphere formed by making use of preheating. CONSTITUTION:A conductor stranded wire 1 is passed through the 1st-3rd electrode rings 12, 14, 16, an intermediate guide ring 18, and 4th electrode ring 20, and is coiled by a coiling machine 24. During this time, the wire 1 is immersed in the water in a main water tank 36, after which it is passed through an annealing area 28 consisting of the steam oxidation preventing atmosphere 40 in a steam tank 42 formed by evaporating the water content thereof by preheating. The stranded wire 1 annealed in the area 28 is passed through a cooling area 30 where it is cooled and dried. After drying, it is passed through an outlet guide ring 22 and is coiled by the machine 24.
