Abstract

PURPOSE: To adjust the discharging amount of a coating gun and to automatically control the thickness of coated films without stopping the line, by installing the coating gun and a supplementary gun correlated with the former in a paint pipeline system and by controlling the discharging amount of the supplementary gun.
CONSTITUTION: When automatic coatings on steel plate, etc., are made, the paint is supplied into a supply pipeline system 4 by operating a pump 3. Then, a solenoid valve 15 is opened and air is supplied to a coating gun 1 and a supplementary gun 7, and thus the paint is discarged. At this time, a correlation is set between the discharging amount per unit time of the coating gun 1 and that of the supplementary gun 2. The driving air pressure of the pump 3 is adjusted so that the discharging amount of the supplementary gun 7 becomes an amount which corresponds to the set discharging amount of the coating gun 1, based on a mutual relation table obtained experimentally from the mutual relation. When steel plates, etc., are passed through the automatic coating line after the above-mentioned adjustment is made, coating having desired thickness are performed.
