Abstract
PURPOSE: To control balance between an air-supply amount and an air-discharge amount derived from a time lag at a start or stop period and to inhibit the adhesion of dust and inferior paint-application to a workpiece, by the operational method that the workpiece is successively shifted while starting and stopping an air-supply means and an air-discharge means independently in each zone of a coating booth.
CONSTITUTION: A coating booth comprises air-supply chambers 2a, 2b, spray chambers 3a, 3b and paint mist-separating chambers 4a, 4b. Each zone (a), (b) for a workpiece is separated with partition plates 5AW5C and provided with pressure controllers 7a, 7b including a few fins. The air-supply chambers 2 are connected to air conditioners 10a, 10b, while the separating chambers 4 are communicated to the outdoors through exhaust ducts. In the coating booth of this kind, a temperature, humidity and pressure in the zone (a) are controlled at a start period. When the workpiece is carried into the zone (a), an air-supply means and an air-discharge means are started and a switchgear plate 6A is opened to do automatic coating. When the workpiece reaches the zone (b), other switchgear plates 6B, 6C are opened and the workpiece is manually coated and carried out. At a stop period, the workpiece is carried out of the zones (a), (b), the switchgear doors are closed and the air-supply means and the air-discharge means are concurrently stopped. Consequently, the minimal air-supply and air-discharge are done in response to the carrying or coating state, the diffusion of dust is reduced, and inferior paint-application is inhibited.
