Abstract
PURPOSE:To uniformize the thickness and density of the coating material applied on the core wire of the welding electrode, by automatically controlling the moving speed of the hydraulic piston for extruding the coating material for the welding electrode into constant. CONSTITUTION:The piston 2a is moved forward and backward by pressure feeding the oil of the oil tank 7 into the front and back chamber of the hydraulic piston cylinder 2 by the hydraulic pump 4 through the switching valve 6 and pipe 8. The coating material 3 is applied on the core wire being fed and passed in the direction P and the painting mouthpiece 1a of the cylinder 1 holding the coating material 3. Hereupon, the speed of the piston 2a is detected by the speed detector 9, and is inputted to the control unit 10, and then, is compared with the appropriate set value of speed. Depending on the result of above comparison, the control motor 11 is driven, and the flow rate adjusting shaft 4a of the hydraulic pump 4 is automatically operated through the actuating shaft 12, for adjusting the rate of oil supply; hereby, the speed of the hydraulic piston 2a is always kept constant. Accordingly, the amount of coating material 3 to be discharged from the painting mouthpiece 1a becomes constant, so that the coat of uniform thickness and density is formed on the core wire.
