CONSTITUTION:A part of the output of a video input terminal 1 is applied to a BPF2, and the BPF2 separates a chroma signal in terms of the frequency. The output of the BPF2 is amplified by an amplifier 3. A wave detector 4 converts a chroma signal having a high frequency into a signal of a low frequency that is suited to the modulation of luminance of a cathode-ray tube. This converted signal is amplified by an amplifier 5 and applied to a cathode-ray tube 6. As a result, an image having the luminance corresponding to the level of chroma component is obtained on the screen the bube 6. Then a white-balanced point can be detected by taking notice of the white area of a subject.
