Abstract

PURPOSE: To make the distinction between the NTSC system or the PAL system and the SECAM system accurate by causing input signals to pass through a filter circuit having a passing band and an attenuation band.
CONSTITUTION: For example, in the operation for the coming of PAL-system and SECAM-system color TV signals at input terminal 1, input signals are first inputted to gate circuit 2, and a burst signal (figure a) is outputted by burst sampling pulse 3 and is inputted to filter circuit 4. In case of PAL-system signal receiving, the filter becomes a low impedance, and the output is zero. In case of SECAM-system signal receiving, a burst signal having a large amplitude is obtained at every two horizontal scanning periods as shown figure b as the output waveform because signals of two kinds of frequency are included. This burst signal has the output branched in gate circuit 5 by gate pulse 6 (figure c) and becomes figures d and e. As a result, voltage difference is not generated at both ends of output terminals 8 and 9 at a PAL-system receiving time but is generated at a SECAM-system receiving time, so that distinction between these systems is possible.
