Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the quality of pictures, by eliminating the dot disturbance emerging on a screen by a carrier chrominance signal at a part where no correlation exists in the vertical direction of a composite video signal. CONSTITUTION:The output of a subtractor 13 is supplied to a wave detector 25. The detector 25 amplifies only the signal component approximate to the frequency of carrier chrominance signal and gives a wave detection to the signal component, and thus leads out the wave detection output to the signal component approximate to the carrier chrominance signal like a wave detector 20. The output of the detector 25 is supplied to one of the two input terminals of a suppressing and eliminating circuit 26. The circuit 26 suppresses and eliminates the signal component approximate to the frequency of the carrier chrominance signal contained in the output of an adder 17 only when the detection signal is obtained simultaneously from the detectors 20 and 25.
