Abstract

PURPOSE: To accelerate the temperature rise of lubricating oil at the starting of an engine, by providing an oil receiver over an oil reserve part to receive lubricating oil dropped from the parts of the engine and by temporarily collecting heated lubricating oil in the receiver to heat lubricating oil in a pump suction pipe.
CONSTITUTION: When an oil pump 4 is put in operation by the starting of an engine 1, lubricating oil sucked up from the oil reserve part 3 of an oil pump 2 through a suction pipe 5 is supplied under pressure to the sliding parts 10 of the engine 1. After the lubricating oil is heated because it lubricates and cools the sliding parts 10, the oil drops into the oil pump 2. At that time, the lubricating oil first drops into an oil receiver 11. If a valve 14 remains closed due to the low temperature of the oil in that case, the oil having dropped into the receiver 11 stays therein and does not immediately return into the oil reserve part 3 and is sucked up by the pump 4 so that the temperature of the lubricating oil flowing through the suction pipe 5 is heightened by the heat of the lubricating oil in the oil receiver 11.
