Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent the flow-back of the intake from a crankcase of a rotary valve type 2-cycle engine by connecting an empty chamber to the outer end of a branching pipe branched from an intage passage at the location between a rotary valve and a throttle valve.
CONSTITUTION: In a rotary valve type single cylinder 2-cycle engine having a combustion chamber 18 and a crankcase 56, a branching pipe 96 branched from an intake passage between a throttle valve 60 of a carburetor 58 and a rotary valve 38 opening and closing by a crankshaft 22 is connected to an empty chamber 92. Thus, the pressure in the intake passage 52 which increases due to rapid closing of the rotary valve 38 is absorbed in the empty chamber 92 via the branching pipe 96 thereby equalizing the pressure in the passage 52 and stabilizing at high level due to the inertia of the intake to prevent the blow-back of the intake from the crankcase 56.
