Abstract

PURPOSE: To send liquefied gas under high pressure by extending a cylinder of a pump to a normal temperature part, sufficiently sealing a piston rod at the normal temperature part so as to trap a liquefied gas running away into a back pressure part, and increasing a back pressure so as to prevent a gas leakage.
CONSTITUTION: A pump consists of a low temperature part 5 wherein a piston 1 is centered and a normal temperature part 6 wherein a crank 2 is centered. Those parts are placed considerably apart from each other. A relatively long piston rod 7 which connects the piston 1 and the crank 2 is surrounded by a cylinder 3 and a back pressure part 4 extending from it and a sealing device 8 is provided at an exit of the back pressure part 4. Because the temperature of a part of the sealing device 8 is considerably high in comparison with the temperature of an extremely low temperature gas, the sealing device 8 provides a sufficient sealing effect, so that reduction of a pumping function caused by low temperatures may be prevented.
