Abstract

PURPOSE: The titled equipment in which the primary emulsion resulting from the primary agitation in the major tank is subjected to the secondary agitation in the sub-tank to produce an emulsion fuel of uniformaly fine particles with less fluctuation in suspending particle size.
CONSTITUTION: A predetermined amount of heavy oil is sent with the pump 4 into the major tank 1 and prescribed amounts of water and an emulsifier are fed through magnet valve 9 and with pump 11 into the tank 1 respectively. Then, the primary agitation is effected with the agitator 14 to form the primary emulsion containing water partiles of about 10μ in diameter in oil. A predetermined amount of the emulsion is transferred through magnet valve 23 into the sub-tank 20 and the secondary agitation is effected mechanically with agitator 27 and ultrasonically with device 28 to form the emulsion fuel including fine particles of water with less than 3μ diameter, which is fed to the burner. The water separation from the emulsion is completely inhibited so that there is no water reaching the burner.
