Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent a pressure loss and thermal leak of a three-way valve for selecting a refrigerant in a heat pump refrigerating cycle, by providing a piot valve in its main valve and controlling the distance between the main valve and its valve seat with said pilot valve.
CONSTITUTION: If refrigerant pressure is applied from an inlet port 6, a main valve 11 is momentarily contacted to a valve seat 9 and closed. A main valve 12 is separated from a valve seat 10 by distance S2, and a refrigerant from an inlet port 7 flows to an outlet port 8 through a communication passage 5. When the main valve 11 is closed, high pressure is generated in a valve chamber 2 and applied to a pilot valve 17, then the pilot valve is moved sliding leftward. And the main valve 12 is further separated from the valve seat 10 by a rod 15 to provide distance S1. Accordingly, a pressure loss of the refrigerant when flowing from the inlet port 7 to the outlet port 8 is extremely decreased by the larger distance S1. Further the refrigerant never leaks between the rod 15 and bearing holes 13, 14 also without a thermal leak.
