Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable to close a gas valve automatically at a flame extinction time by a method wherein an air pressure inside an air tube is maintained by heat during operation of a gas appliance and also a gas supply valve is kept open by moving a hydraulic pressure cylinder with the air pressure.
CONSTITUTION: When the combustion of gas proceeds during the operation of a gas appliance, an air tube connected to the appliance is heated by its flame, an expanded air inside the tube passes through an air nozzle 25 into a pressure-sensing chamber 28, to push a diaphragm 29, so that a valve 27 linked directly with said diaphragm is moved leftward to close a valve orifice 26. Thus, a main valve 8 is kept open, and when the main gas keeps flowing due to the extinction of the flame during the gas operation or other reasons, an air pressure inside the air tube lowers, a slide valve 27 is returned rightward via the pressure-sensing chamber 28, the valve orifice 26 is opened and the main valve 8 is shut off.
