Abstract
PURPOSE:To operate a heater efficiently and to prevent the scattering of noises by a method wherein the title radiator shutter is provided in the fan shroud at a position behind the radiator and in front of the fan when the fan shroud is mounted in a vehicle so that no clearance is left in the fan shroud. CONSTITUTION:A fan shroud 1 is formed of a rectangular front section 1a, a circular rear section 1b and a tapered section 1c and when the fan shroud 1 is mounted in a vehicle, a radiator (not shown) and an engine (not shown) are positioned in front and at the back of the fan shroud, respectively. Further, the radiator shutter 2 is incorporated into the space within the front section 1a of the fan shroud 1 so that the fan shroud itself forms an outer frame of the shutter 2. Consequently, the fan shroud 1 can have a hermetic property against the flow of air and the noises of the engine and the efficiency of the heater can be improved to thereby make the fan shroud especially effective when it is used with a diesel engine vehicle having the drawback of being noisy.
