Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the noise of air exhaust from a machine which discharges cooling air through the open part of a radiator guard by a cooling fan, by providing a silencing louver unit at the open part of the radiator guard and providing a radiator silencer in front of the louver unit. CONSTITUTION:The engine enclosure of an earth-moving vehicle is so shaped that an air flow as shown by an arrow in the drawing is caused by the rotation of a cooling fan 3 provided in front of an engine 1. A silencing louver unit 14 is provided at the open part 9 of a radiator guard 8. A silencer 16 is provided in front of the louver unit. The silencing louver unit 14 is made up of a plurality of horizontal louvers 36 mounted on a fixed frame not shown in the drawing. Each louver 36 is made of a sound absorber coated with punched metal. The silencer 16 is placed so that space 42 is defined between the louver unit 14 and the silencer. To manufacture the silencer 16, a sound absorber 46 is provided on the entier inside of an almost flat plate 44.
