Abstract

PURPOSE:In an engine cooling system having in front of a radiator a fan shrouding and an electric fan, to reduce noise from a stay formed in concave section using a sheet of a specific thickness. CONSTITUTION:The intake duct part 3c of a fan shrouding 3 is formed in a bell- mouthed shape along the entire circle. The end portion 5a of a stay 5 is formed in U-shape to catch around the rim of the intake duct part 3c. The stay 5 and the fan shrouding 3 are joined together by fitting the rim of the intake duct part 3c into the forcibly expanded U-shaped portion 5a of the stay 5. Then, the stay 5 and the fan shrouding 3 are fastened together by spot-welding the end portion 5b of the stay 5 to the cylindrical part 3a of the fan shrouding 3. The section of the stay 5 is formed in U-shape opening against the air stream and the width (1) of the opening end of the section is determined over two times under eight times of the thickness (t) of the sheet.
